Christophe Guinet, aka Monsieur Plant, was born in Paris and grows up between the city and the countryside, keeping for a long time a contact with the nature. Fascinated since his adolescence as well by the world of vegetables as this on of the urban cultures, in this world of consumption and non-essentials, he takes time to grow plants, to know them and to give them a uncommon place : in height in the urban space and art.
Where we are rather used to the excitement of novelties always more trends the some than the others or to the degradation of what surrounds us, Monsieur Plant delivers a message by the poetry of his works.
He composes in the delicacy and recomposes the codes which we like. His works are fragile and short-lived and his vegetable realizations are unique.
Indeed He so plays with the opposition and uses capitalist symbols by giving them a natural and ethical twist, as to say that the nature will always triumph on the man and its modes of consumption.
Monsieur Plant collects his materials in the nature: flowers, barks, moss, seeds or grass and disconnects from the world to be better inspired by it.
He realizes then meticulous projects where our icons are rethought in the slightest detail, where every plant or seed is deposited with dexterity, and ally both by realizing poetic and contemporary projects.
