Earlier this week, we featured artist christophe guinet’s exotic plant pots made from vintage apple computers. the french creative, otherwise known as ‘mr.plant’, is best known for his botanical artworks, which demonstrate the inherent beauty of nature through everyday objects and pop-culture motifs — like this recent example sourced from the star wars saga.

In a similar vein to his wearable batman suit
Christophe Guinet’s latest exploration of tree bark as a medium sees the creation of a helmet for another iconic fictional character — darth vader. the ‘face’ of the familiar star wars figure has been crafted using carefully-sculpted bark to form a functional mask, that wearers can put on over their own heads. ‘bark vader’ epitomizes guinet’s fascination and experimentation with organic materials as mediums for art-making, and spotlights his appropriation of cult-culture references as key motifs to unite with the natural world.
